There has been a lot of buzz about the Nexus 3 since the Google I/O conference last month, most of which hinted about the Next Nexus being made by LG. It would supposedly have the first 720p Hd display and would also be sporting a quad core Tegra GPU as NVIDIA CEO was caught talking about NVIDIA working closely with Google for Ice Cream Sandwich. Well all these are rumors and this articleis also one of them. A pic has been leaked of a new unseen device which is supposedly the Next Nexus from Google more details about it after the break.
Well I was planning to post this article from the morning but as we all are in Delhi for the Gizmomeet and mobilecamp, I got a bit caught up and could not write the article. Anyways moving on at the look of the device it looks just like the nexus one only bigger, the Titanium body, design, and the shape of the speaker just looks like the nexus one, when you consider all the above aspects there is only one manufacturer which comes to mind and that is HTC, yes has Google gone back to HTC for the next Nexus?
“Why do we say that?” It is the Nexus and not any other leaked device from HTC lineup , well if you look in closely then you can find no hardware or soft buttons on the device or the touchscreen, this could only mean one thing, it will be powered by ice cream sandwich ! Yes you heard it right, as ice cream sandwich will be a mixture of gingerbread and honeycomb and as honeycomb does not need any buttons, these could sure be the next ice cream sandwich phone.
I would again like to tell that it is only a rumor. There are various other factors to be considered here, the Next Nexus was rumored to run on Tegra 3 or OMAP 5 (quadcore) but HTC usually uses Qualcomm processors, is HTC really going to go with NVIDIA? Or is qualcomm secretly working on a quadcore processor which we have not heard of, we can expect anything in this war of manufacturers. There is also a possibility that this is the Ice Cream Sandwich device from HTC themselves, which is also a great news, but lets not spoil the moment and consider this as the next Nexus from HTC until we get more proof.
Well we expect high end spec on this device, with a 3D screen, quadcore asynchronous mobile processor with the new GPU which qualcomm is currently working on, 4.3” screen, minimum of 1650 mAh of battery , more than 1 GB of Ram, NFC support, and ofcourse Ice Cream Sandwich. Well there are many months until this device is officially announced. Nexus will be coming somewhere in December near Christmas . So have some patience and grab a popcorn as you enjoy the rumors.
Update:
The person who leaked the news has sad that the company is making two models, one which will support HSPA+ and the other one would be CDMA. The body of the device is not fixed, its just a dummy, there is a front camera which will be added later. Also if we look closely we can see some photoshop work done, not much but just a little. There is also a chance that the Nexus 3 launch date gets extended due to the next iPhone launch this september
