Just a week after the iPhone 5 launched in India, another much sought after product has officially arrived in the Indian market. This time round, it is the turn of the popular Google Nexus 7 tablet – announced by Google earlier this year. The Nexus 7 is an Android 4.2 based device which initially launched with Android 4.1. The one being launched in India we hear is only the 16 Gb version which runs android 4.1. Nevertheless, an update for the same can be expected very soon.
For some of you, the official launch of the Nexus 7 might not be a big deal since the device was being sold in India unofficially by many online retailers. However, it is good to see that Google has decided to remove India from the “ignored” list of countries.
The Nexus 7 was released back in June this year and was praised by critics and users alike for its powerful specififcations, features and the rather affordable price at which Google decided to sell it. The 16 GB version as you know would be sold for Rs.19,990 here in India.
As for the features, here is a quick round up of what the Nexus 7 has on offer for you. We start with the all important display which happens to be a 7-inch IPS panel sporting a resolution of 1280*800 pixels. Powering the tablet is an Nvidia Tegra 3 quad core chip that runs at 1.3 GHz. Apart from sporting a GB of RAM and a 12 core GPU, the device also runs the latest version of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean – and would be quite future proof as newer versions come out in the future.
The Nexus 7 would be sold in Croma stores across the country for Rs.19,990. How many of you are willing to shell out almost 20k for this tablet from Google?
