A week or so after it became clear that the new Google Nexus 5 smartphone is making its way in to India officially via the Google Play Store, we now have two other Nexus class products treading the same path. We are talking about the 2013 Nexus 7 tablet that Google announced a few months ago and had been selling in overseas markets ever since. Also coming to India is the Nexus 10 full sized tablet – which has been around since late last year. This too is all set to make its official entry into India.
The Nexus 7 (2013) was until recently not listed on the Indian Google lay store. But now, if you check the page the product has been listed and has also received an official price tag. Strangely though, only the 32 GB LTE version has its price listed in INR (Rs. 25,999). The 16 GB and the 32 GB Wi-Fi only versions have their price listed in USD ($229 and $269 respectively). As for the Nexus 10, the official price for the close to a year old device is pegged at Rs. 29,999 for the 16GB version. The 32 GB version gets pricing in USD and is currently listed at $499.
While Google themselves have not confirmed if these products are indeed coming to India, the fact that almost all of them have a “Coming Soon” tag underneath them along with the official price does signify the fact that these are indeed headed towards us. Now all Google needs to do is to add a prospective launch date for these devices. The company has already lost a golden chance by not bringing these products to India during Diwali – which is by far the biggest shopping festival in India. It would be important for Google to not delay the launch any further.
Are you planning to get hold of any of these Nexus devices once the Indian launch happens?
