Google has officially confirmed that it will be debuting the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones on 4th October. However, the pricing, renders and color variants of both smartphones have been already revealed by Droid-Life.
Google Pixel 2 Price, Storage Models and Color Variants
The publication has claimed that the Google Pixel 2 would be coming in 64 GB and 128 GB models. These models will be respectively priced at $649 and $749. Last year, Google had launched Pixel smartphone in two storage variants of 32 GB and 128 GB with the same pricing.
Through financing, the Pixel with 64 GB of storage will be available for $27.04 over a period of 24 months. The 128 GB variant will require monthly payments of $31.21 for the same duration. Kinda Blue, Just Black and Clearly White are the three color variants of the Google Pixel 2 smartphone, as per the reports by Droid-Life.
Google Pixel 2 XL Price, Storage Models and Color Variants
According to the publication, the larger Pixel 2 phone will be arriving with Pixel 2 XL moniker. Like the Pixel 2, the Pixel 2 XL would be coming in 64 GB and 128 GB variants that will be respectively costing $849 and $949. The older Pixel XL was priced at $769 and $869 for the 32 GB and 128 GB models.
The Pixel 2 XL will be available with monthly installments of $34.38 and $39.54 over 24 months, respectively for its 64 GB and 128 GB variants. The smartphone will be coming in two color choices: Black & White and Just Black. Google seems to have readied a landing page for the Pixel 2. This page is expected to go live once the Pixel 2 phones are announced.
The above renders of the Pixel 2 duo show that both of them will be sporting two-tone design on the rear panel. Previous reports have revealed that the upper part that includes the camera and LED flash will be made up of glass while the other part that features the fingerprint scanner is made up of metal. There is a slight change in the design in the positioning of the fingerprint scanner when compared to the 2016 Pixel smartphones. The original Pixel and Pixel XL phones have the fingerprint reader placed in the upper portion of the rear panel.
Google Pixel 2, PIxel 2 XL Specs and Features
Google Pixel 2 that is speculated to be manufactured by HTC features a 4.97-inch display that will support full HD resolution. The LG-made Pixel XL 2 that is tipped to sport full screen design like the LG V30 and will be coming with a 5.99-inch OLED display that will support 1,440p resolution. Like the original Pixel phones, the successor smartphones will be sold as “made by Google” devices. Rumors have revealed that these phones may not feature a 3.5mm audio jack.
Apart from differing in display, the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are expected to feature identical specifications. Some of the new features that are expected to arrive on the Pixel 2 duo are Android 8.1 Oreo, squeezable frame like HTC U11 and always-on display.
On 4th October, Google is also rumored to announce other devices like Google Home Mini, Daydream View VR and Pixelbook 2-in-1 device.
