Plenty of details on the specifications and features of the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones have appeared in the recent weeks. However, a fresh report by Android Authority carries the updated specifications of the Pixel 2 duo.
Google Pixel 2 XL Specs
According to the publication, the Google Pixel 2 XL’s edge-to-edge display will be offering a high screen-to-body ratio of around 80 percent to 85 percent. The screen would be supporting Wide Color Gamut and QHD resolution. In addition to this, the screen will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Even though the publication has revealed lots of details on the display of the Pixel 2 XL, it has not mentioned the exact size of the screen. Recent reports have suggested that the Pixel 2 XL will be featuring a 5.99-inch OLED screen.
The flagship phone will be powered by Snapdragon 835 chipset. It will be available in two storage sizes of 64 GB and 128 GB. It will be featuring a big battery of 3,520mAh battery. It seems that the Pixel 2 XL will be housing the largest battery compared to all the other flagship phones released this year.
The standard 3.5mm audio jack won’t be available on the phone. It suggests that users will be able to connect wired earphones to its USB-C port of the phone. The smartphone will be equipped with dual stereo speakers.
The Edge Sense squeezable frame feature available on the HTC U11 is going to be available on the left edge on the Pixel 2 XL. With Active Edge squeezable frame on Pixel 2 XL, users will be able to launch Google Assistant as well as turn off an alarm seamlessly. Rumors have revealed that it will come preinstalled with Android 8.1 Oreo.
The original Pixel phones received rave reviews for their cameras. The Pixel 2 duo are also expected to arrive with stellar cameras that will be coupled with features like Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Google Imaging chip. The exact configurations of the rear and front cameras of the handset are not known. The Pixel 2 XL will be fitted with 2nd generation fingerprint sensor from Google.
Since it will be coming with an e-SIM card in the U.S, users will be able to conveniently switch between different carrier networks in the without physically replacing the SIM card. Lastly, the handset will be featuring an IP67 rated dust and water-resistant body.
Google Pixel 2 Specs
Apart from display and battery, the Pixel 2 is pegged to arrive with identical specifications as the Pixel 2 XL. Since it will be coming with a 4.97-inch OLED display that will be producing FHD resolution, it is unlikely to support Wide Color Gamut. Also, it will be housing a smaller battery of 2,700mAh capacity.
The Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL launch event will be held on 4th October in San Francisco, U.S. The search engine giant will be providing the buyers of the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL with unlimited storage for free on Google Cloud until 2023.
