Street view was introduced in the year 2007 which enables you to explore more places using Google maps with 360 degree street-level imagery. Street view is really helpful to get in depth information about the place which you are looking for, like the restaurants around, roads , you will also be able to view cars of that place, etc.
This feature was available in 27 countries and India was not one of them, but there is some good news, Google India has finally announced that it has already started the data collection process, starting from Bangalore city and will be live in the coming weeks. First city in India to get street view will be Bangalore, now people from anywhere around the world will be able to explore the places, streets, road, etc in Bangalore from their PC or mobile devices using Google Maps.
If you are in India and currently in Bangalore you will be able to catch the Street View cars which will be collecting the images of the area, you can easily spot it as it has a huge camera and Google branded all over it. With the street view cars it will also be accompanied by a trike which is a specially designed three wheel pedi cab with a camera on top.
Well this is really a great news, street view will be able to give us better navigation throughout the city and a better view of that place. Well the feature is still to come throughout India and hope it comes soon. Though I just wonder how the Indian Government will react to the same given the security situation in India and the continuous terror threats that we have here. Only time will tell…
now there will be politics, and virodh on this.. riots will continue till google quits this plan.
