Even as the Nexus One was being launched (back in January 2010) there were speculations whether Google would follow it up with a second version of the handset – obviously called Nexus Two. Those speculations seem to be taking the form of facts with latest reports regarding the imminent arrival of the Google Nexus Two – which would be unveiled at a media event scheduled on November 8, 2010.
As of now, all we know about the Nexus Two is that it would be made by Samsung (and not HTC as in the case of the Nexus One). It is likely to be the first phone to run Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). Also, unlike the Nexus One which was designed internally at Google and HTC just being the makers, the Nexus Two is an almost complete Samsung affair.
As of now, the speculated specifications look impressive. How does a 4-inch AMOLED or (Super AMOLED) display, a 1.2 GHz processor, 5 MP external camera and 1.3 MP front-facing camera, 16 GB of internal storage and 512 MB of RAM sound?
While the Nexus One was quite a popular device, its sales were less than impressive thanks to an almost non existent marketing campaign. Besides, the Nexus One was severely limited when it came to sheer availability.
Will the Nexus Two fix these issues when launched? As of now, it is thought that the phone would be made available on T-Mobile and probably, AT&T.
Lets all look forward to November 8!

Update: Samsung has officially shot down the rumor!
if only Gizmodo r to b believed…may the Nexus 2 see light of the day…by the way specs don’t sound much great…the only advantage being the on-board android 2.3 & not to mention the priority it will enjoy in future updates of android versions…but then lets wait & watch till nov 8 !!
Skeptic, your a moron. a 4 – inch AMOLed display, 1 . 2 GHz processor , 5 MP external camera and 1 . 3 MP front – facing camera , 16 GB of internal storage and 512 MB of RAM doesn’t sound like good specs or an improvement over the N1? Stick to your ifony numnuts. Lets see if Samsung can compete with HTC. Theres the question.
…and you (@PC) are definitely an IDIOT…these specs sounds music to your ears..huh…droidX has already 4.3″ screen/droid2 global already on anvil with 1.2 ghz processor/nokia n8 rocks at 12mp camera etc..etc…what i wanted to convey is that for a google branded flagship phone these specs seems to be average..it brings nothing new to the table…in fact it dilutes the “Nexus’ brand…when nexus1 was released it was first of its kind then…but nexus2 simply isn’t…insted motorola terminator desreves much praise…& Iphone 4 was truly a flsgship model with some clear-cut advantages over iphone3GS…like ratina display..etc..
I’m still not sure if the N2 will be a Motorola or a Samsung. I’ve seen reports stating both. It also seems Google is not involved with the N2 but I’m unsure of this fact too. If they are, why would they change from HTC who did such an awesome job the first time? I have not owned the DroidX but have there not been alot of complaints about this model? And the weight?
I don’t think they are doing a Nexus two. They have already shut shop on google.com/phone 🙂
