The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 was provided to all the 5000 developers present at the Google I/O, and the device has already been rooted within just a few days of its release. Just like the Samsung Galaxy S II this device has also not been locked by Samsung and the bootloaders have been kept unlocked, which is again a great news for the dev community to explore and mod a very powerful device.
The procedure to root the Galaxy Tab is not very hard thanks to @_mrbirdman_ well with root access already taken care of, the custom ROMs will show up just before the official launch of the device. Well if you own or will own a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 then you can go ahead and follow the simple procedure given below.

- This Procedure will grant you root access
Requirements:
- Download and update Android SDK from here
- Download and install Samsung Kies from here
- Download Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_10.1_rooting.zip from here
Procedure:
- Install KIES and then sync your device, so that the drivers get installed
- Close KIES and fire up cmd prompt
- Go to the folder where you copied the Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_10.1_rooting.zip through cmd prompt
- Type the command “adb push Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_10.1_rooting.zip /sdcard/Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_10.1_rooting.zip” and hit Enter
- Now type “adb reboot recovery” and hit enter
- You will boot into recovery in some time
- Once you boot into recovery choose the volume key to toggle and power button to select “apply update from /sdcard”
- Now select the .zip which you just copied to the SD card
- The device will take some time to flash and you will be rooted
- Reboot the device
