China is the biggest computer & printers market in the world and we are here in the beautiful city of Shanghai with over 500 fellow technology journalists from across the globe to witness the launch of over 80 new products by HP. Amongst the products launched by Hewlett Packard, is the new range of Ultrabooks, Elitebooks and other notebooks powered by the 3rd generation Intel core processors (Ivy Bridge), several printers, AIOs and innovative products like the HP t410 thin client.
HP has been aggressive with Ultrabooks this year, with three new additions to the line-up. While the Envy SpectreXT is the smallest, lightest and sleekest one out there, the Envy 14″ Ultrabook and Envy 15.6″ Ultrabook take the line-up to larger screen sizes. HP also has a new range of Envy Sleekbooks, which can be best described as the 14″ & 15.6″ Ultrabook without a SSD! The new range of Ultrabook & Sleekbooks feature Beats audio system with dual speakers (the Spectre XT adds a couple of more speakers on the back, thus making it a quad-speaker system).
Taking Intel’s Ultrabook range to a 15.6″ form factor is a first from HP and while we can expect others to follow suit, it is clear that Intel isn’t putting any hard walls around what an Ultrabook should be apart from the security and performance benchmarks. With the new Ultrabook range, highly portable and powerful notebooks are no longer confined to the premium class.
