HTC’s third handset from its new One Series, the One S is yet to be officially launched in India. The other two handsets from the range – the top of the line One X and the mid-range One V is already on sale here and people have been expectantly awaiting the launch of the One S.
Now, according to a recent report by the Times of India, HTC is all set to launch the One S here in India starting June 8. The phone – which would be positioned below the HTC One X is expected to be priced at around the Rs.33,000 mark.
The One S was unveiled along with its two siblings at the Mobile World Congress back in February and has seen commercial launch in a few countries globally.
A high end device, the phone is however positioned as a cheaper alternative to the flagship One X. As opposed to the One X which gets a massive 4.6 inch display, this one makes home with a smaller 4.3 inch super AMOLED panel. The resolution too has been scaled down from 1280*720 on the One X to 540*960 on the One S. Tipping the scales at just 119 grams, the phone runs Android 4.0 and packs in 1GB of RAM and 16 GB of on board memory. There is no option however to expand the memory further. The phone also gets an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash.
