HTC has just confirmed what we already knew. The recently announced (at the Mobile World Congress) One X and the One V smartphones from HTC’s brand new One Series would be launched in various countries across Asia – including India – starting April 2, 2012. This was confirmed by HTC at a launch event conducted by them at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.
Like we said, the One X was first seen at the Mobile World Congress about a month ago. The One X is the top of the line handset from the One Series lineup and boast of a 4.7 inch 720*1280 pixel display. It runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich right from day one. Perhaps the most talked about feature on the device is the camera which is an 8 megapixel unit with an F2.0 aperture. The camera also gets the ability to take a picture whilst in video mode. There is also burst mode that allows users to capture an amazing 99 images in one go.
It gets 32 GB of onboard memory with no option to expand it any further. The all-important processing bit is handled by an Nvidia Tegra 3 chip with a quad core processor embedded inside it – running at a cool 1.5 Ghz.
The One X is expected to priced at $715 – which translates to around 36,000 INR. We hope HTC manages to surprise us all by making it a little more affordable.
As for the One V, it would be priced at around $317 (Rs. 17,000). The One V gets a 5 megapixel camera, a 3.7 inch display with WVGA resolution and the good old distinctive “chin” which will remind you of the HTC Hero of the yesteryears.
