Barely five months after it was officially announced, HTC has come up with a new, pimped up version of its flagship Android smartphone – the HTC Sensation. The device, packs in quite a bunch of new additions to the stock version of the phone. If you were one of those who were confused whether to go for the Sensation or the Samsung Galaxy S II, read on to find out whether opting for the Sensation XE would be a better choice for them or not.
The Sensation XE looks similar to its elder sibling i.e. the HTC Sensation. Internally, however, HTC has boosted the clock speed of the dual core processor to 1.5 GHZ as opposed to the stock speed of 1.2 GHz. The other significant change on the hardware front is the addition of a larger sized battery which is now rated at 1730 mAH.
On the stock version of the handset, the battery was rated at “just” 1520 mAH. Those of you who expected HTC to do something with the screen which cannot match the brightness and vividness of the AMOLED Plus display on the Galaxy S II, be prepared to be disappointed because the Sensation XE comes with the same S-LCD display seen on the stock phone. The good thing about this is that it gets a higher resolution than the one on the Galaxy S II.
The Sensation XE also packs in the Beats by Dr. Dre headphones with a line-in remote, which makes the Sensation XE the first phone to be paired with the headset after HTC’s $300 million deal with Dr. Dre. The phone switches to a profile optimized for these headphones automatically, when you plug them in. On paper, the device should be able to provide you with better audio quality than on the stock handset because it has a better audio processing chip.
The Sensation XE would be made available this very month in countries across Europe, Africa and Asia. US availability hasn’t been revealed though.
