While Sony Ericsson is miffed at the limitations of WP7 and doesn’t want to go down and compete on design and price alone, it seems that HTC is giving all hints of its Sense UI coming on Windows Phone 7.
“We have a good relationship with Microsoft so we’re continuing to work with them to figure out how to enable a Sense experience without breaking their model,” says Drew Bamford, Head of User Experience, HTC. “Our expectation is that we will be able to do more over time.” – Forbes
Having used Windows Phone for a while, we quite appreciate the clean and snappy performer that Microsoft has outed in the v1 of its new mobile OS. But if HTC has to get Sense on WP7, we would say that they are not alone. There would be many others who want to do the same and it would be a crucial call from Microsoft. We would prefer Microsoft working to deliver some major updates to the OS functionality over the next few moths, rather than entertain custom UIs and break its focus.
