As we await the official launch of the Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1/8.9 and the Blackberry Playbook, the little tablet by RIM was spotted retailing at a Vijay Sales outlet in Mumbai. It’s common to see unannounced gadgets to be made available via stores online stores who ship it after the launch date, but honestly we didn’t expect the Playbook to be available in this fashion without any ‘shor sharaba‘ from RIM. We aren’t new to spotting products retailing without an official launch and Playbook adds to the list.
Earlier this year, Apple surprised the Indian markets by launching the iPad 2 within 2 months of its international launch. The tablet market in India is heating up with aggressive price cuts and new launches. Other than the ones mentioned above, the HTC Flyer would also make an official debut shortly.
Blackberry is rumored to announce the Playbook officially later this week, but for the eager ones, rush to a Vijay Sales near you. The pricing is Rs 27990 for 16GB (32GB for 32990 and 64GB for 37990).
I am eagerly waiting for the Acer Iconia A100/101 7″ Tab!!

I truly got a Shock when Dell released Dell Streak 7″ for INR 35,000/- in India when it was selling for USD 500 Unlocked!!
WHY do we suffer so HEAVILY?? Shouldn’t Indian Price be USD equivalent to INR with SOME Taxes.. NOT SO HIGH!
