Gone are the days when fixed wired speakers were connected to our devices. Wireless technology has been in great demand due to flexibility and convenience. Creative unveils a wide range of products to enhance our wireless media experience. The launch includes wireless Modular Bluetooth speakers, ZEN Style M300 PMP which support Bluetooth audio playback and WP series Bluetooth music headphones with inbuilt mic. This range comes as an addition to the recently launched Creative ZiiO 7’ and 10’ Wireless Entertainment Tablets.
ZiiSound Dx Series Wireless Modular Speaker System
The ZiiSound Dx series comes with three different speakers – ZiiSound D5x, ZiiSound D3x and ZiiSound DSx. The latter one is a wireless sub woofer while the first two are wireless one-piece speakers.
Their USP lies in being flexible and portable as they can be easily configured and can be used in different combinations for 2.1 and 3.1 setups. i.e they can be configured wirelessly so that multiple speakers can be connected to form a multi-channel audio system.
The ZiiSound Dx series features the apt-X audio technology, an audio codec used by Creative for its products. These wireless devices can be synchronized independently with stereo Bluetooth devices like iPhone, iPad, Creative ZiiO tablets, etc.
The ZiiSound D5x has a unique feature that makes it better than the D3X i.e. it has a BT-D5 transmitter which gives precision volume control and also charges devices like iPad or iPhone while we are entertained and hence a higher price tag.
The ZiiSound D5x and ZiiSound DSx will be available for Rs. 17,999/- and Rs. 9,999/- respectively in August 2011 at selected retail outlets in India while the ZiiSound D3x will be available for Rs. 9,999/- in September 2011.
Zen Style M300 Pure Wireless Portable Media Player
The Creative Zen style M300 is loaded with various features. It includes microSD card slot, 1.45’ TFT screen along with Touch sensitive control buttons. It also has a Bluetooth 2.1 wireless connectivity.
The M300 is available in two variable 4GB and 8GB capacities and is expandable up-to 32 GB and comes in 4 different colours- Red, Yellow, White and Black.
It has a battery life up to 20 Hours and supports Mp3, WMA and WAV audio formats, supports JPEG picture format and Transcoded SMV video format which requires a codec pre-installed on PC. It also has a built-in mic for Voice recording and an additional feature of clock display.
The Zen Style M300 will be available for Rs. 3,499/- (4GB) and Rs. 4,999/- (8GB) at selected retail outlets from July 2011 in India.
Creative WP Series Wireless Headphones with Invisible Mic
How often do we get irritated with that mic extension on our Headphones and want to get rid of that but cant? Well, Creative unveils its Bluetooth wireless headphones with invisible Mic which is compatible with various devices like phones, tablets and laptops.
The WP-450 and WP-350 has a conventional PC looks while the WP-250 has a mobile design. No information is available on the pricing as of now but it will be available in India at selected retail outlets from September 2011.
Throwing open all these devices in the market together, Creative clearly shows its wireless commitment. We love the concept of modular speakers, its a step towards a wireless world, but the offerings in the sub Rs 10,000/- range need to increase for the concept to really take off. Happy to see a start though!
