Hardly two weeks after the brand new iPhones arrived, people now have turned their attention towards the next big announcement from Apple – its refreshed iPad line-up! Australian blogger Sonny Dickson who has in the past accurately predicted and revealed details of the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c has now leaked probable specifications of the next generation iPad Mini. The iPad Mini 2 as we will call it now according to him will have a spec sheet that would be quite similar to that of the iPhone 5S.
To start with, his source claims that the iPad mini 2 will be powered by Apple’s new A7 chip – which made its debut with the iPhone 5S. This also means that the M7 Co-processor also finds its way inside it. The iPad mini 2 will also boast of Apple’s Touch ID fingerprint sensor a feature currently exclusive to the iPhone 5S. It is only logical that this feature which was introduced with the launch of iPhone 5s would find its way on to Apple’s bigger screened products. The device is rumored to get 1 Gb of RAM as well.
Like the iPhone 5S, the iPad Mini too would come in Space Gray, Gold and Silver color options. In fact, there are some images of the iPad Mini that seem to have leaked already. Here’s a tweet by him showing the innards of the iPad Mini 2

The use of the A7 chip on the iPad Mini 2 would also mean that Apple plans to bump up the screen resolution on the device to retina display standards. Apple is expected to announce its new iPad lineup my October – November this year.
If the upgrades to the iPad Mini would be as significant as what is being currently talked about, would you be considering getting yourselves one?
