Back in May, we had reported that Apple would be launching the iPhone 3GS here in India at a super low price. Today, friends from over at BGR India have just confirmed the news. The product has been launched in India for an attractive price of Rs. 19,000.
Our source however claims that lucky folks might be able to get the phone for under 19,000. We will take that with a pinch of salt – but as if now, expect to pay around Rs.19,250 for the 8GB iPhone 3GS.
BGR also notes that Airtel and Aircel would be the operators who would be offering the device in India. Our source however tells that it’s only going to be Airtel. However, with Aircel and Airtel both selling the iPhone 4, it is likely that BGR could be right about this one.
Another player is Vodafone which still sells the3GS in India. Now, it is not known if they too would start offering the 3GS for the same price. As of now, Vodafone are rumored to be pushing the stock and Apple India has given no official confirmation, we wonder if that would come at all.
