Well Motorola didn’t exactly set the market ablaze with its first Android tablet, the Motorola Xoom. Motorola had an exclusive launch with the Honeycomb update for Android, and the lucrative tablet market has so far seen many me-too products ever since the Apple iPad succeeded in reviving the tablet concept. Motorola launched the exorbitantly priced Xoom in India a while back, and within months it has already cut down the price by as much as 20%.
Apparently Droid Life has leaked images of the Motorola’s upcoming new Xoom 2 tablet which is being called the MZ617.
As per their sources the Xoom 2 is believed to have HDMI and microUSB ports at the bottom of the device, a SIM card slot which should support LTE, interestingly no SD card slot and its supposed to weigh approximately the same as the original Xoom. Looking, at the image the tablet seems to have a 10.1 inch screen with front facing camera. It has cut corners which resembles the Photon 4G in design.
The back of the device houses an HD camera with flash by the looks of it. Also interestingly there is an engraving that says “Confidential”. Makes me wonder if this is also a prototype lost in some bar 😛 There is no information on the processor in the device. Though there is no carrier info or branding as such on the device, but there being a SIM slot we would assume that there would be an association with at least one of the major carriers in US if not all. The bigger question however, remains, would this launch along with the Ice Cream Sandwich release of Android.
