Karbonn Mobiles, the India based maker of affordable mobile phones has announced the launch of a new Android powered device. The A18 as they call the product happens to be an Android 4.0 laden handset powered by a 1.5 Ghz processor. Let’s take a quick look at the features on this device.
To start with, the display on the A18 happens to be a 4.3 inch panel with a (possible) resolution of 800*480 pixels. The display is of the IPS type and the resolution while not ultra high, is quite respectable for the Rs.13 k price tag the phone sports. For the price, you get a handset with a 5 megapixel camera as well as advanced imaging features like “burst mode” and “face detection”. While Karbon has called the camera a “High Definition” camera, it is still not clear whether the device can capture vdeos in HD quality. We will of course find that bit out very soon.
Like most other phones in its category, the A18 too boasts of dual SIM capability. Connectivity options are comprehensive with Wi-Fi b/g/n as well as HSDPA support. Bluetooth, WiFi tethering and USB tethering is supported as well.
The phone supports memory expansion and supports micro SD cards of up to 32 GB capacity and comes preloaded with a bunch of preloaded applications.
The Karbonn A18 gets a 1500 mAH battery under the hood that should be potent enough to power the phone for a days worth of use.
