It seems to have become a norm for Indian handset manufacturers to silently launch new handsets on online portals without making a huge hue and cry these days. Following the trend is Karbonn Mobiles which has apparently launched the Karbonn A6, its newest Android powered handset on SnapDeal.com
Currently retailing for Rs 5,390, this entry level Android toting device gets a 4-inch, 800*480 pixel screen and runs Android version 4.0. As expected, this one supports dual SIM cards and is powered by a 1GHz processor under the hood. There is with 512MB of RAM as well which is apt for a device in its prIce range. The on board memory is a paltry 104 MB which is grossly inadequate. MicroSD cards are however supported.
Taking care of the imaging bit is a 5 megapixel camera which can also capture videos. There is a front VGA camera as well for all you video calling freaks. One thing you will have to live without however is support for 3G which is a shame considering the other features of the handset. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM Radio and support for GPRS and EDGE.
Under the hood is a 1450 mAh battery that offers upto of 3.5 hours of talktime and a standby time of around 250 hours. As of now, the device seems only available with Snapdeal – but we hope that would change soon.
