Steve Jobs introduced the Smart cover along with the iPad 2 this march and all this smart cover did was, put the iPad 2 in standby when the cover was put on top of the screen. People were totally amazed by this and Apple became the hero but of course the smart cover costs around 39$. The iOS fanboys were very happy with this feature and started comparing to Android.
In result Fahrbot Mobile came up with an application called kill switch which will put your Android device on standby mode if you put any kind of cover on top of the screen or turning the device face down. Yes this application does not use a ‘cover which is smart’ instead it uses any cover which comes with the device or its alright even if you don’t have a cover, just flip the device face down.
The application mainly uses the light sensor, proximity sensor and the accelerometer to make the device enter stand by mode. Once this application is installed you don’t need to press the power button to turn the screen off and this application also saves a lot of battery. The good thing about this app is that it can be used in both Android tablets and phones too. This is a great application which not only looks kool but also saves the battery.
There are two version, lite version and a payed version available in the Android Market (and while we are testing it, we wonder if this would also wake the Android device just as magically?)
You can try out the lite version by clicking over here
