Lava International has announced the Lava Z50 as its first Android Go smartphone through a press release. The Lava Z50 has been showcased at the ongoing Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 tech expo in Barcelona, Spain. It is a low-end smartphone running on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition) OS. It will be will be available for buying from mid-March.
The Lava Z50 is expected to arrive with a 4.5-inch display that will carry support for 480 x 850 pixels resolution. The screen is shielded by 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass. It is fueled by MediaTek MT6737 chipset that features a 1.1 GHz quad-core processor. The SoC will be coupled with 1 GB of RAM. It will feature a native storage of 8 GB, out of which only 5.5 GB will be usable space. For additional storage, it includes a microSD card slot.
The Lava Z50 Android Go phone has a rear camera of 5-megapixel. It frontside is also features 5-megapixel selfie camera. Both cameras are equipped with LED flash. According to Lava, the Z50 is capable at capturing bokeh effect shots. The latest Android version on this phone also brings along support for search using up to 10 Indian languages.
As of this writing, there is no information available on its remaining specs like battery size, dimensions and weight. The handset will be arriving in the market in color choices like Black and Gold. It will be made available through 100,000 retail stores in India.
The company is silent on the pricing of the Lava Z50, but it has confirmed that it will be with Rs. 2,000 cashback through Airtel’s Mera Pehla Smartphone initiative. Rumors have it that the Lava Z50 will be priced around Rs. 5,000. Like other Z series phones by Lava, the Z50 will be also coming with 2-year warranty.
