With tablets becoming the latest fad, tablet for kids is a tempting market. Also, when you consider the cognitive educational benefits that kids can gain by studying (playing) with tablets, it becomes all the more relevant to have one for kids. This makes Leapfrogs LeapPad a blessing for kids (parents as well as they no longer have to fear for the safety of their iPads ;))
Leapfrogs LeapPad is a solidly built education tablet for kids between 4-9 years. It has a 5 inch screen with a 480 x 272 pixel resolution. It comes with a 400 MHz processor along with a 2GB of memory. And also features a still camera, a video camera, USB port and a mic. It has a sizeable 100+ educational apps and fun games with an ebook reader, as well.
Still not convinced. The LeapPad facilitates kids learning by way of apps for maths and spellings which auto adjust their difficulty levels based on kids performance. There is also a stylus that helps kids practice writing, as well. What more, the tablet will cost you just $100. You can pre-order it here and will be available starting August.
We don’t know how successful the One Laptop Per Child laptop project is, but the LeapPad undoubtedly has the potential to help enhance the way kids learn in the developing countries.
