Lenovo India has just announced the launch of a brand new tablet in India. The device christened the IdeaTab A2107 runs Android 4.0 (ICS) and features a 7 inch display. The device runs Lenovo’s Mondrian User Interface atop the Android core.
The device packs in Single core, 1000 MHz, MediaTek 6575 Cortex A9 processor. It packs in 16GB of storage and gets 1GB LPDDR2 memory. The device weighs around 400 grams and boasts of both front and rear cameras with the front one being capable of video chatting.
Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0, a micro USB port an inbuilt microSD card reader. It also supports 3G + WiFi Connectivity. The A2107 also boasts of an internal roll cage that claims to protect the device in case of a drop.
The 7 inch display on the device boasts of 350 nits of brightness. Les I forget, the main camera is a 2 megapixel unit while the front camera is a VGA unit – good enough for basic video calling and Skype use.
The A2107 has been made available in India across retail stores in the country and carries a price tag of Rs. 14,000 (plus taxes). This seems to be a decent option for people who are on the lookout for a decently sized, 3G capable tablet. That said, we would reserve a judgement on this only after we get to use a review unit.
