Lenovo just augmented its affordable “A” series with four new dual-SIM Android smartphones, namely the A269i, A369i, A516 and A850. They’ve also been quite stingy in terms of disclosing the full specs of these devices, so until we are able to get our mitts on them, we’d advise buyers to be cautious. The four phones range in price from Rs. 15,999 to Rs. 5499.
The Lenovo A850
The A850 is the largest and most high-end of the four new smartphones. It is priced at Rs. 15,999 and comes in both black and white variants. The most interesting fact here is that it sports a 5.5″ display, but Lenovo has not really disclosed its resolution. Our best bet would be 720p, looking at the price range, but Lenovo might have cheaped out with WVGA or qHD, in which case, we’d recommend you to stay away.
- 5.5″ IPS-LCD display with 178-degree viewing angles and fairy magic dust (read, undisclosed) resolution.
- A 1.3GhZ Quad-Core Processor.
- Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
- 5 MP rear-facing camera.
- 4GB internal storage with a microSD card slot with support up to 32GB.
The Lenovo A516
Again, a 4.5″ display of an unknown resolution. The price-to-value ratio of this phone basically hinges on this one spec, which Lenovo has not yet shared. It is priced at Rs.10,999 and comes in Charcoal Grey and White.
- 4.5″ IPS-LCD display with 178-degree viewing angles and a mysterious resolution.
- 1.3GhZ Dual-Core Processor.
- Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
- 5 MP rear-facing camera.
- 4GB internal storage with a microSD card slot with support up to 32GB.
The Lenovo A369i
A more lower end handset, the A369i has a 4″ display and is priced at Rs.6,999. Unlike its bigger brothers, it only comes in black.
- 4″ display, and guess what? We don’t know the resolution!
- 1.3GhZ Dual-Core Processor.
- 512MB of RAM.
- 5 MP rear-facing camera.
- 4GB internal storage with a microSD card slot with support up to 32GB.
The Lenovo A269i
We don’t really know much at all about this handset. It is priced at Rs. 5,499 and is going to be available in black.
- 3.5″ display with no resolution information whatsoever.
- A 1GhZ Dual-Core Processor.
All four phones will be available from October, 2013. We have to be honest, the lack of disclosed information doesn’t really give us much confidence here, so be careful if you’re thinking of purchasing these!
Update:
The resolution for the A850’s 5.5″ display is qHD(960×540), giving it a pixel density of 200 PPI. We will keep updating this post as more information becomes available.
