Lenovo has announced a new addition to its ThinkPad lineup earlier today with the debut of a new product – the Thinkpad Helix. The device was announced alongwith the weirdly named Ideapad “Yoga” 11S ultrabook. The Thinkpad Helix boasts of an 11.6in “rip and flip” touchscreen. This will let users operate the device in four different modes. The 11.6 inch display of the device is of the IPS kind and features a resolution of 1080 pixels.
Powering the Helix is an Intel 3rd Generation Core processor (more details on the version soon!). It weighs 835g – thereby making it decently portable. The Helix can be docked and undocked from its keyboard accessory. This accessory also features a trackpad and can replicate the features of a full fledged laptop. The device also gets 10 hours of battery life, on board support for LTE networks and and NFC. It is powered by Microsoft’s recently announced Windows 8 platform.

The Lenovo Thinkpad Helix is expected to go on sale in the U.S starting February 2013 at an expected retail price of $1,799.
