LG has announced the launch of two new Android powered handsets in India with the announcement of the high end Optimus 3D Max and the mid-range Optimus L7 smartphones earlier today.
Let’s take a closer look at both the handsets now. We start with the Optimus 3D. This handset comes with a large 4.3 inch WVGA display. It is powered by a dual core OMAP 4430 processor running at 1.2 Ghz and also boasts of 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory. The phone being 3D capable results in the presence of twin 5 megapixel cameras at the rear of the device for 3D imaging. As of now, the device runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread with a possibility to get updated to Android 4.0 in the future. Even with these dual cameras, the phone manages to remain slim and measures just 9.6mm across.
The Optimus 3D Max also boasts of an inbuilt 2D to 3D converter which can convert all your existing 2D content to 3D. Like with its predecessor, the Optimus 3D, the 3D Max boasts of glasses less 3D viewing ability.
Next up is the Optimus L7 which boasts of similar screen resolution and size specs as that of the 3D Max. That’s right, this handset too gets a 4.3 inch WVGA display. In fact, the similarity moves on to the camera resolution as well. But instead of the twin cameras that the Max boasts of at the rear, L7 users would have to remain happy with a single camera – which is not a bad deal at all. The phone is just 8.7 mm slim and houses a single-core 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon mobile processor. Aiding the processor is 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of onboard storage. Connectivity options are abundant with support for Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi, USB and GPS.
The Optimus L7 also comes preloaded with a TV viewing application called LG Mobile TV which offers customers over 50+ live TV Channels. The handset runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich also features LG’s Optimus UI 3.0 – making it the first phone from LG to run it.
LG has informed that the Optimus 3D Max has been priced at Rs. 30, 500 while the Optimus L7 has received a price tag of Rs.19, 900 /-.
