Taiwanese consumer technology brand LG has launched its second X-Series smartphone of this year dubbed as LG X-Venture. The phone is up for grab starting today in North America and will soon be available worldwide. As you can expect from a rugged smartphone, the handset boasts of a metal frame body accompanied with a non-slippery back over. The device also gets IP68 certification for water and dust resistance.
The LG X-Venture also feature three physical buttons beneath the display on the front panel letting you access them even while wearing gloves. The device also flaunts a QuickButton on the side which performs multiple tasks depending upon the kind of presses. A short press will let you access Outdoor Essentials, long press for settings and double press to toggle Glove Mode. Thereby letting the device recognise screen taps and swipes through gloved fingers. Furthermore, you can also customise the QuickButton as per your requirements. Additionally, the device has also passed 14 different MIL-STD 810G tests designed for the U.S. military.
Specs-wise, the LG X-Venture puts on a 5.2-inch Full HD In-Cell Touch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Inside are an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage further expandable via MicroSD card up to 2TB. For photography, it sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with a 5-megapixel wide-angle lens front camera. It runs Android 7.0 Nougat and also houses a fingerprint scanner.
The phone packs in a 4100mAh battery coupled with Quick Charge 2.0 which is claimed to charge the device from 0% to 50% within 48 minutes. The handset measures 154.0 x 75.8 x 9.29 mm and weighs 166.5 grams. On connectivity front, it features Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-B 2.0 port. The phone comes in two colour options – Black and Brown.
