If there is one smartphone that can boast of totally out of this world specs at this moment, I bet there is only one contender around. LG’s Android powered Optimus 2X. This monster of a phone complete with a dual Core Tegra 2 processor and support for full HD video recording makes its stand out from the rest of the smartphone crowd. Announced back in December 2010, the phone was expected to arrive in markets around the globe starting January 2011. And that is exactly what is happening now.
LG has launched the device in its home country Korea. Lucky Koreans would be able to get the phone on the SK Telecom network – the largest mobile operator in that country. The phone is currently available in the standard black color. However, the company has confirmed that they would follow it up with a white version in February.
If you are still not well versed with the Optimus 2X specs, here’s a brief idea of what the spec sheet reads:
- 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 AP20H Dual Core processor
- A 4-inch 480 x 800 pixels display
- 8 GB storage – expandable to 32GB
- 8 Megapixel camera with support for full HD (1080p) video recording at 24fps. 720p at 30 fps.
- Front 1.3 megapixel camera
- Android 2.2 – (Android 2.3 ready)
- Dolby Mobile Sound
That should suffice – for now I believe?
The only thing that is now left to be seen is an International launch (along with an Indian one, of course!)
