A Danish company Lumigon has just announced the launch of its new Android powered smartphone. Known as the Lumigon T2, I am sure many of you would have passed of this new launch as just another Android vendors (futile) attempt to gain some traction in the highly competitive smartphones sector. But one look at the phone and you might as well change your mind.
Let’s admit it. The Lumigon T2 is one sexy looking handset. It has this ‘carved from one block of steel” sort of look and the sharp edges look quite contemporary as well. Personally, I would have liked a larger screen, though as there is lot of space on the upper front part of the phone that could have been put to good use. Talking about the screen, the T2 has a decently large 3.8 inch display. The resolution has not been announced yet – but I am sure it wouldn’t be something that would be an eyesore.
Let’s now delve in to the all-important spec sheet. To start things off, we talk about the processor which in this case is a Qualcomm Snapdragon unit that chugs along at a health 1.4 Ghz. There is an 8 megapixel camera at the back which should take decent quality pictures. This is of course apart from a front camera (of undisclosed resolution) to satiate your video calling requirements. The screen is covered with a layer of Gorilla glass which we have to admit is getting so common these days, it’s more of a necessity than a feature that is to be highlighted. Coming to the memory front, Lumigon has not revealed how much internal memory this one packs in but you can go up to 32GB in case you are the kind who lugs around lots of data.
The phone features the MS3 sound chip from Bang and Olufsen which according to the company endows the phone with unmatched audio quality. Connectivity options are comprehensive with support for Bluetooth, NFC, USB and Wi-Fi. The device runs Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and would be made available across Europe and select Asian countries in the next few months. The price has not been announced yet – but this is going to be an expensive handset is all we can say now!
