The game has not yet arrived in the country, but the hype around 2K Games’ Mafia II is picking up in India. According to a release we have received from E-Xpress Interactive Software, a number of electronic stores such as Croma, Planet M and Landmark have started receiving pre-orders for the game, which is a bit of a rare thing in India, where many gamers generally go the “torrent” way to get their hands on the latest titles – just check out the number of Starcraft 2 reviews in the Indian media, when the game has not even been released in India, if you doubt our word. But getting back to Mafia II, the pre-order deal has been sweetened with the offer of a free t-shirt on a “first come, first served” basis – again, something that is not seen much in the country.
All of which makes us really curious about how good the game, which is based on the rise of Vito Scaletta in the fictional city of Empire Bay, will be. We will find out when it hits the stands in a few days. Yes, watch this space for a review.
