As the number fo keypad models getting introduced goes down by each passing day, its the touch screen that seems to be the in thing not only on the latest smartphones but also the feature phones. And I must admit that the future of the keypad looks bleak, though I can see the BlackBerry loyalists lurking around as I write this. π
Well Maxx Mobiles today unveiled a full touch screen phone β Maestro (MT255) with multimedia and social networking features. Maxx themselves also had good keypad feature phones in the Khamosh series.
The MT255 is a dual-SIM phone that houses a 1000 mAh battery and a 2MP camera with flash at the rear along with a front digital camera. The phone has a 4GB memory card pre-loaded with music and videos and is expandable upto 8GB. This JAVA enabled phone also supports applications such as eBuddy, Bolt & Nimbuzz along with an application for Facebook.
It also has connectivity features like Bluetooth, MySync (PC Suite) and USB Mass storage, along with WAP and GPRS option. Packed with FM radio with scheduling the device also has audio player that supports MP3/ AAC/ WAV / M4A formats and a video player supported by MP4 / 3GPP / AVI formats. The inbuilt King Movie player application is said to compress a video to 1/10th of its size without compromising on audio and video quality (we would like to test that).
Lastly MAXX Mobiles offers a pair of Reebok shoes worth Rs. 2499 along with this phone which is priced at Rs. 4568. The Maestro (MT255) will be made available in India across retail outlets like Planet M, Tata Croma, Hyper City, Indian Naval Canteen, Kings Electronics, Hotspot, Reliance Web World and NEXT electronics.
