Well Toshiba was barely thriving with their line of Android based Thrive tablets. And well Toshiba wants to change that in some style.
Toshiba is supposed to launch the world’s slimmest tablet on this Tuesday. Called Excite 10 LE, the tablet has a thickness of just 0.3in or around 0.76cm and weighs a mere 535g. It is around 0.04 inches slimmer than the iPad 2.
The tablet runs on Android 3.2 “Honeycomb” operating system for now and will soon be upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich or Android 4.0 soon, though a date has not been announced for the same.
The tablet has a 10.1” IPS display with a resolution of 1280×800 along with scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla glass, we wonder if it’s the same retina display we had heard about way back in May, 2011. The tablet is loaded with a Texas Instruments OMAP 4430 dual-core mobile processor and a 5MP camera capable of shooting 1080p videos.
The tablet will also feature a host of connectivity options including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro-USB and HDMI ports as well.
The Excite 10 LE is supposed to be launched in two versions i.e. 16GB and 32GB priced at $530 USD and $600 USD respectively. Though there is no mention of when or where is the tablet releasing.
