A few days ago, in China, Meizu launched its new MX5 smartphone. The Meizu MX5 has been priced at CNY 1799, i.e. Rs. 18,450 for the 16GB model. There is another 32GB model which is priced for CNY 1999 i.e. Rs. 20,500. The other variant by the company is a CNY 2399 approximately for Rs. 24,650 for the 64GB model.
The company stated that the pre-orders has started since the day the phone launched and will be in the stores on 5th July. The phone currently is only available in China and the company have not mentioned its global rollout plans for the device.
The phone features a metal body where the company touts that the new physical home button is ideal for single hand operation. The new home button is also a fingerprint scanner. The company stated that the mBack is the best way for using the device in one hand and the mTouch 2.0 saves the password trouble.
It features a 5.5-inch full-HD, 1080×1920 pixel, Super Amoled display along with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The phone offers a pixel density of 441ppi along with the same technology as the Samsung Galaxy S6.
The company along with this also claimed that the display had a 10,000:1 contrast ration which is 7 times higher than the Xiaomi Mi Note.
The Meizu’s new MX5 comes with MediaTek’s very recent 64-bit Helio X10 octa-core processor, Cortex-A53, at 2.2GHz coupled with 3GB RAM and PowerVR G6200 GPU. The device runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop-based Flyme 4.5 OS which supports dual SIM. Both the SIMs support 4G.
The Meizu MX5 sports a 20.7-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX220 Exmor RS BSI sensor, laser autofocus and dual tone LED flash. The device measures up to 149.9×74.7×7.6mm and weighs 149 grams packing a gravity sensor, IR proximity sensor, gyroscope, ambient light sensor and digital compass.
