Micromax launched the Canvas Silver 5 at an event in New Delhi on Thursday. This phone is an addition to its Canvas-series and is priced at Rs 17,999. The device will be available for sale from the first week of July.
One of the most notable and acclaimed feature is its 5.1 mm thickness which along with this maintains an ‘end-to-end’ without any bump. The phone sports a 4G LTE which comes with an Airtel’s Double 4G data offer that doubles the 4G data for any customer.
The company doesn’t end their offers here. It has now introduced its new service policy for the Canvas Silver 5 dubbed ‘M! On-site Care’ which promises consumers a doorstep pickup and drop in 7 days.
The phone is supported by Android 5.0.2 Lollipop and supports a single SIM (Nano) card featuring a 4.8-inch (720×1280 pixels) HD Amoled Display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The phone is powered by a 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor. This is then coupled with a 2GB of DDR3 RAM and comes with a 16GB inbuilt memory. One of the few drawbacks is that there isn’t any feature expandable storage support. This feature is probably going to be the reason for many customers opting out. The Canvas Silver 5 will be available in Gold and Black.
Under the camera front the device supports an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with Sony IMX219 CMOS sensor along with a ‘blue glass filter’ and a LED flash. There is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The phone is backed by a 2000mAH battery with the company claiming better battery backup.
Micromax along with this revealed that Hugh Jackman will be promoting the new Canvas Silver 5 with the first advertising being unveiled in July.
