Micromax, the Indian manufacturer announced it’s new offering to its customers on Thurday. The smartphone is called Canvas Spark 2 Plus and the USP of the phone is that it runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. The Canvas Spark 2 is the first Micromax smartphone to run on Android 6.0 and is the first one to be launched out of the 15 phones lined up for 2016. The phone will be available exclusively only on Snapdeal for Rs. 3,999, starting from today.
Let us have a look at the specifications of a phone which comes with such a affordable price tag. The Micromax Canvas Spark 2 is a 5.0 inch FWVGA (480×854 pixels) display and at the core is a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and along with it 1GB of RAM. The phone comes with 8GB of inbuilt storage and supports expandable storage upto 32GB via microSD card. The phone has 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera. However, the phone only comes with a 2000mAh battery which may cause battery issues. The other connectivity options include GPRS/EDGE, 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Micro-USB. The phone is available in three attractive colours which are Metallic Grey, Copper Gold and Champagne Gold colours.
Considering that the phone will act as a gateway for the first-time users, the phone is loaded with such appropriate features. Micromax’s Canvas Spark 2 Plus comes with the Indus feature. A user will be able to type, chat and change the menu of their phone in whichever language they choose from the 10 available languages. Also, a swipe to the right can translate and to the left can transliterate messages in the preferred language.
Shubhajit Sen, Chief Marketing Office, Micromax commented on the launch said that with the launch of the the Canvas Spark 2 Plus, the company is offering first time smartphone users a smooth transition from their feature phones at a wallet-friendly price. The company has tied up with Snapdeal exclusively for the Spark series and has successfully expanded their share in the smartphone market by creating a favourable impact by capturing over 11% of the exclusive online market last year.
