Micromax has finally launched its flagship Android handset – the Canvas 4 A210 at an event held at Delhi. The device, the fastest and the most expensive Micromax branded phone has been priced at Rs.17,999 and features quite a number of interesting features. To start with, the device features a 5-inch, 1280*720 pixel “True HD” IPS display and runs Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean. The phone gets the Mediatek MT6589 SoC which houses 1.2 Ghz quad-core processor. This is supported by an ample 1GB RAM alongwith 16 Gb of Internal Memory which you can expand further thanks to the micro SD slot.
The device also gets a 13 megapixel camera at the back while an outrageous sounding 5 megapixel camera adorns the front! The rear camera can capture full HD videos at 30fps. The display can also be used with gloves on – a take at Nokia’s high sensitivity display. As expected of a Micromax, this phone has dual SIM capability. The battery underneath the device is rated at 2,000 mAh .The phone also boasts of a premium aluminium finish. All said, it is clear that the A210 is just a rebranded BLU Life One – which has been around for sometime now.
Micromax however has added its own share of software customizations to the phone which includes the much talked about “Blow” to unlock feature. Then there is a vertical panorama mode, video pinning ability and the auto pause functionality. Micromax has also boasted about its ‘smart gesture controls’ that include the “flip to turn the speaker on” functionality and “shake to unlock”.
The Canvas 4 would be available starting this week – first to consumers who had prebooked it online.
