Microsoft’s could based service Office 365 was earlier thought to be coming “later this year” if we were to believe the higher ups at Microsoft. What we all however didn’t know was when actually the launch would take place. However, according to fresh news coming in, Microsoft seems to be all set to launch the service this very month. That’s right. You might see Microsoft roll out Office 365 in the next few days! This was revealed by none other than Steve Ballmer – that too during his recent visit to India.
“We’re pushing hard in the productivity space. We’ll launch our Office 365 cloud service, which gives you Lync and Exchange and SharePoint and Office and more as a subscribable service that comes from the cloud. That launches in the month of June” – the Microsoft CEO was quoted at the recently held Confederation of Indian Industry Cloud Summit.
Anyway, even though Steve has said this, we will wait till an official announcement (with a press release and all) is released by the company. For those of you eagerly awaiting the arrival of the program, well your wait might just end very soon!
Do you think Office 365 would go on to become a great Google Apps alternative?
