It was only last Friday that Mr. Brandon Watson of Windows Phone had reached out to webOS developers via a tweet, stating that Microsoft will be more than happy to have them on board and work with them.
We ignored the above presuming that there would be hardly any developers on board the webOS ship which has all but sunk in the platform ocean. But as it turns out there were quite a few developers still waiting in the hope of that unlikely revival of webOS. But now it seems that the same developers have given up hope on the platform and have decided to hold onto the helping hand extended by Mr. Watson.
As indicated by this new tweet by Brandon Watson, already more than 500 developers from the webOS platform have reached out to him and Microsoft are working on to get them on the Windows mobile platform.
He has also issued a letter which speaks more in detail on the matter wherein he has thanked the webOS developer for reaching out to him. He also apologized to them for his delayed response to them citing that they were not at all expecting responses in such large numbers and were caught “flatfooted”. He also stated that Microsoft is “psyched” to have them on board and also excited at the new possibilities that their partnership can create for Windows Mobile platform.
Well for one we are also surprised to know that there were still so many developers on the webOS platform. And we sincerely hope that webOS survives this time as well as like it always had in the past. Though, at the same time it would be very interesting to see which way the customers and developers of the webOS are heading Windows, Android or maybe iOS?
For now your guess is as good as mine. So feel free to let us know your views on the same in the comments section below.
