Milagrow has announced the launch of a new 7 inch tablet in the country. Claimed to be the thinnest 7 inch tab to be available in India, the TabTop 7.4 as the device is called, also boasts of a 4:3 aspect ratio as opposed to the usual 16:9 ratio seen on most Android tablets.
Milagrow says that the TabTop measures across 6.5mm at its thickest point. It also gets a usable screen area of 23.54 sq.inches which is greater than the 15.63 sq.inches normally seen on tablets of similar size in 16:9 aspect ratio.
The Milagrow TabTop is also claimed to be world’s first “Ready to Use” tablet thanks to it coming preloaded with as many as 55 applications right from the factory – making the chore of downloading apps onto a newly purchased tab sort of redundant. The apps come in various categories including Productivity, Utility, Networking, Entertainment and Medical Folders. The pre-installed apps include applications for Sales Professionals and Doctors – Radiology Viewer, Hearing Test, and Virtual Plastic Surgery and one for Architects – Auto Desk. For more apps, uses have access to the Google Play store.
The tablet comes loaded with Android 4.0.3 and will also be updated frequently as newer version of the OS comes in.
On the hardware front, the TabTop 7.4 boasts of a 1.2 Ghz processor coupled with a separate GPU (Dual Mali 400 MP) which is also claimed to be the world’s first multi-core GPU. The tablet also features a 1.3MP front camera with built-in Face Detection, Instant Focus, 6x digital zoom, Single motion Panorama mode for wide angle pictures, Time-lapse for slow motion videography (7 time intervals), 8 exposure levels for different light levels.
It also gets a decently sized at 4000mAh battery which would let it work continuously for over 11 hours. It also gets a pre-installed battery saver application extends the life even further. Other interesting features include the capability to use 3G dongles and even a harddrive of up to 500 GB capacity with the tablet.
It comes in two trim levels with a lower priced 4 GB variant and a top of the line, 16 GB version priced at Rs. 10,990 and Rs.13,990.
