We all know how cumbersome traveling by flights can be. With the traffic at the airports sort of multiplying every year, check ins and check outs at the airport have sort of become a nightmare because of the long hours they usually end up taking. A recent study predicts more gloom for us; it states that the passengers per day will increase from the current 6.5million to 44 million per day. We can only imagine how bad or rather crowded the situation is going to be.
Fortunately, EADS recently in the news for their Zehst has come forward to our rescue. They have partnered with Altran, a European tech consulting firm to create more friendly and efficient airports in the future. An airport that promises to help reduce the congestion at the airport, facilitate security checks and reduce waiting times at airports from around 1hr to 10 mins. Wow! And they call it the “Friend-Lean” airport.
How will they do it? Well they plan to closely integrate the rail network along with the airports. Once at the airport you will have small pod cars to transport you and your family directly to the gate of the concerned flight, and your baggage will be delivered as well. You will also have the personalized services on your smartphones or tablets so that you can make informed decisions be it buying your tickets or any other products or services at the airport.
They even plan to introduce services wherein you will be picked up from your door to the airport and to your desired destination from the airport. Alas all of this will be only possible around 2050!
