Moto C Plus, the next gen of the previously launched Moto C, has been launched today in an event by Lenovo India. The phone will be available exclusively on Flipkart from tomorrow at a pricing of Rs. 6,999.
With the C series, Motorola is targeting the section of audience who crave feature packed phones but have a small budget. However, looking at the specifications of both the C series phones, it seems that there are better options with superior specs in this price range.
Just like all the Moto phones, even the Moto C Plus comes with the latest Android 7.0 Nougat. However, since Lenovo took the reigns of Moto, its phones have stopped receiving timely Android updates.
The Moto C Plus fits a 5-inch IPS HD display with a 294 ppi ratio, which seems pretty decent at this price range. The display is better than the previously launched Moto C, which wasn’t even HD.
Moto C Plus is equipped with an 8MP f/2.2 auto-focus rear camera and a 2MP f/2.8 camera for selfies. There are two LED flashes for both, the back and the front, which has now become a norm for most newly launched phones. The camera also has some common additional features such as geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, and ability to click HDR pictures and panorama.
The phone is powered by Mediatek MT6737 which ticks at 1.3 GHz. For a better gaming experience, it also packs the Mali-T720MP2 GPU. It comes with 2GB of RAM, which is a necessary upgrade from the 1GB of RAM in Moto C. 16GB of internal storage is provided, which can be expanded up to 128GB conveniently through the dedicated micro SD slot.
The battery is user removable, charges fast and pretty huge at 4000 mAh. Moto claims that the battery will last up to 30 hours with normal usage, which we will have to find out once the phone hits the market.
The phone sports the classic Moto design with a micro-textured back cover, which is removable and comes in 3 different colours – Black, White and Gold.
Moto C Plus comes with all the basic connectivity options including Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, FM, Dual-SIM, and 4G VoLTE. It also has 3 different slots, two of them for nano SIMs and a dedicated micro SD card slot, which seems to be disappearing after hybrid slots came into existence. This is an added advantage considering that it has 16GB of internal storage and most users would need a micro SD.
The Moto C Plus is available on Flipkart through a sale tomorrow @ 12PM with a pricing of Rs. 6,999. Some of the launch day offers include the option to buy Motorola’s Pulse Max headphones at Rs. 749. Also, if you want a Jio Prime subscription, you can avail 30GB more data for no additional cost. Even Myntra users can get 20% off when they buy from Flipkart Fashion.
