Lenovo-owned Motorola has launched the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play smartphones in India through an unveil event in New Delhi. These smartphones had received a global launch in April. At that time, Motorola had also launched the Moto G6 Plus smartphone. The company did not launch the G6 Plus in India and it did not confirm on whether it will be bringing the phone in the country anytime in future. The Moto G6 duo that have landed in India are blessed with full screen design and decent specs.
Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play Specifications and Features
The Moto G6 has a metallic body with nano coating that protects the phone from splashes. It houses a 5.7-inch Max Vision display that produces Full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The 154.5 x 72.4 x 8.3mm and it weighs 167 grams.
The Snapdragon 450 SoC is present under the hood of the Moto G6 Play. The 32 GB variant of the phone has 3 GB of RAM whereas the 64 GB edition has 4 GB of RAM. The handset receives power from 3,000mAh battery that is equipped with TurboPower charger. For additional storage, it has a microSD card slot.
The dual camera setup lying on the back of the Moto G6 includes a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a secondary sensor of 5-megapixel. Some of the camera features that are available on the Moto G6 include bokeh mode, slow-motion video shooting, text to image scanner and spot color that keeps only a certain portion in color while the rest of the image is switched to monochrome. There is a 16-megapixel selfie snapper that is equipped with beautification mode and is optimized to capture wider selfies. The handset is equipped with Dolby Audio capabilities.
The Moto G6 Play is low-end phone as it supports HD+ resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels on its 5.7-inch MaxVision display. The modest Snapdragon 430 SoC is present under the hood of the phone. The chipset is accompanied by 3 GB of RAM. It is equipped with a microSD card slot.
It has a rear camera of 13-megapixel with f/2.0 aperture. For selfies, the G6 Play is equipped with an 80-degree wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture. The handset is equipped with 32 GB of inbuilt storage. It is equipped with 4,000mAh battery that is coupled with a TurboPower charger. The dimensions of the Moto G6 Play are 154.4×72.2×8.95mm and weighs 173 grams.
The Moto G6 is enabled with connectivity features such as dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, USB-C and 3.5mm audio jack. The G6 Play is equipped with the same connectivity features. However, instead of the USB-C port, it is enabled with a microUSB 2.0.

The 32 GB storage + 3 GB RAM and 64 GB storage + 4 GB RAM variants of the Moto G6 are respectively priced at Rs. 13,999 and Rs. 15,999. The handset comes in a single-color edition of Indigo Black. The G6 will be exclusively available through Amazon India and Moto Hub stores starting from tonight.
