Motorola’s Moto X 2nd Gen has got a price drop in India. The 16 GB variant of the device now costs Rs. 26,999 while the 32 GB is priced at Rs. 29,999. There is also a Bamboo version which only comes with 16 GB of storage and that costs Rs. 29,999. The device was launched last year and this is not the first time that it has got a price drop.
The Moto X 2nd Gen sports a 5.2 inch fullHD display. It runs on a Snapdragon 801 processor and is packed with 2 GB of RAM. Though the phone was shipped with Android KitKat (4.4), Motorola was quick to provide the Android Lollipop (5.0) update for the device.Unlike its predecessor which had mediocre specs, at launch this phone had top of the end specs. The only problem with this phone is the battery. A 2300mAh battery doesn’t seem good enough for the display and processor.
Motorola also recently launched the Moto Turbo in India. At Rs. 41,999, the Turbo is costlier than the Moto X, but it is loaded with better specifications. The Turbo runs a Snapdragon 805 chip and 3 GB of RAM. Its biggest USP to though is its battery. The 3900mAh battery could easily give great battery life and the phone supports fast charging. Motorola also provides the charger in the box.
The constant price drops suggest that the phone may not be selling in big numbers and hence these discounts are given to lure customers. The Moto X first gen, too didn’t manage to become a commercial success. For Motorola, the Moto G and Moto E are the fast selling models. In fact, the Moto G has become the highest selling Motorola phone ever and the company has even pushed out the Lollipop update for the first and second gen of the devices. But if you’re looking to buy a phone with better specifications than those then the second gen Moto X is a decent buy. The phone has looks stylish, has good build quality and the best part about buying Moto phones is that they regular software updates.
