Apple yesterday launched the newer version of the New iPad, much to the agony of the current iPad owners whose purchase have become outdated in a matter of six months; a first in iDevice’s history. It has left a lot of people wondering as to what has really changed with the 4th gen iPad?
Here in the chart below we give you a low down on the specs and comparison between the existing iPad 2 which would still be available in the market and the now redundant New iPad along with the new iPad 4. Hope this helps you understand the difference between all the three.

So here is a small gist of all that has changed with the 4th gen iPad:
- A6X processor which delivers up to twice the CPU and graphics performance of the A5X chip
- New 1.2MP Facetime camera can now shoot at 720p HD videos
- Support for additional LTE networks
- Lightning port
With a lot of the other important features including display and design staying the same; we don’t really find the above changes that radical to really render the new iPad obsolete. Though, the new iPad is being discontinued from the market and there are reports suggesting that Apple is replacing the new iPad with the latest iPad 4 for all those who had purchased it in the last month.
The iPad 4 more or less looks like a pre-emptive measure to counter any possible threat from the upcoming 10 inch Google Nexus & the Microsoft Surface tablet.
Do let us know in comments what do you think. We would love to hear your views, especially the new iPad owners.
