The Nexus S, ever since its launch seems to have been jinxed and plagued with issues. Things started off with the random reboot bug that caused the phone to reboot multiple times in the course of a day. This issue was fixed by Google using an Over the Air update. Just when you thought things were normalizing, we now have reports of an issue with the Nexus S that sounds to be more serious than the one it faced earlier.
According to Engadget, a number of people have been complaining about a new bug on the Nexus S that causes the phone to lose data connectivity intermittently. Once the data is lost, it is only sorted after the user reboots the phone. The issue then replicates resulting in the user ending up performing multiple reboots – just for the data connection to work.
While there are talks about this issue being around since 2009 in the form of issue 2845, Google has created a new issue number – 14672 in the bug tracker to name this issue.
Google has confirmed that they will offer an OTA update that would fix these issues on the phone.
