So you think you’re a Rubiks cube expert? Well I think you should meet nine year old Dhanayush Raniga before you even consider claiming that crown. At the recently concluded Technovanza 2011 event at VJTI Mumbai, Dhanayush was the cynosure of all eyes – thanks to his amazing abilities with the colored cube.
Now, you might start pointing towards youTube videos of smart kids doing it real fast, but what Dhanayush has done becomes remarkable when you learn that he now holds the record for the youngest kid on the planet to solve the puzzle – blindfolded. He managed to solve it under 10 minutes – thereby beating a kid from China who held the record prior to this.
Dhanayush’s obsession with the Rubiks Cube started two years ago ever since he got hold of one by sheer chance and he’s been hooked ever since. He practices his act with the Cube daily for hours together and uses various algorithms to complete a task that you might be bewildered to know that can be solved blindfolded.
