HMD Global has introduced a new smartphone called Nokia 7 in China. It is a mid-range phone that is driven by Snapdragon 630 SoC and is flanked with a ZEISS branded rear camera. Also, it sports an impressive design.
Design and Display
The Nokia 7 has a 7000-series aluminum frame with diamond cut beveled edges that is flanked with glass panels on both sides. The rear side features a 3D molded Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It has a IP54 certified chassis that makes it splash-proof. The handset measures 141.2 x 71.45 x 7.92 grams and it is available in colors like Glossy Black and Matte White.
The 5.2-inch IPS LCD display of the smartphone offers FHD resolution and it is safeguarded by a sheet of Gorilla Glass 3. It features capacitive buttons below the screen.
Cameras
HMD Global is highlighting the Bothie feature of the Nokia 7. This feature was first introduced on Nokia 8 smartphone. The Dual-Sight technology from the Finnish firm allows users to make use of the rear and front cameras at the same time to shoot Bothies, in other words – split screen videos and photos.
The Nokia 7 can shoot Bothies using the rear-mounted f/1.8 aperture 16-megapixel ZEISS camera sensor that is assisted by a dual-tone LED flash along with the f/2.0 aperture 5-megapixel selfie camera. The front-facing camera supports 84-degree wide-angle shooting and the main camera is capable of shooting 4K videos at 30 fps. While shooting videos, the Nokia 7 can record high-quality sound as it is equipped with OZO audio technology.
Performance and Connectivity
The 4 GB and 6 GB variants of the Nokia 7 are both powered by Snapdragon 630 chipset. It has an internal storage of 64 GB. For additional storage, it also offers a microSD card slot. The 3,000mAh battery of the phone is coupled with 18W rapid charging feature. It is preloaded with Android 7.1 Nougat and like other Nokia phones, this one is also going to receive Android 8.0 Oreo update.
The Nokia 7 is enabled with the usual connectivity features such as Cat. 6 LTE modem, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2, USB-C, 3.5mm headphone slot, NFC and GPS.
