Indian online travel agency MakeMyTrip (MMT) has launched its travel booking app on the BlackBerry App World in India. Called MakeMyTrip Mobile, the app will help users search and compare air fares and booking through authorized transaction channels with Visa and Master Card. The app requires a simple login and will synchronize your flight bookings with the BlackBerry calendar reminding you of flight schedules from time to time. It even pushes your travel updates onto your social media accounts, tracking your GPS location, telling you about nearby restaurants, along with their reviews and pics. The app can also help you find alternate flights, check flight status, cancellation and even receive e-tickets.
While the app can only handle flight bookings as for now, we are hoping it will soon extend to cover hotels bookings, rail and holiday bookings too. And while, on the subject of hopes, we are also hoping for MMT apps on other platforms – the old Java one is showing its age!
