Now, this is really surreal. LG is claiming that they have manged to sell a total of just over 1 Million Optimus One Android smartphones – in just 40 days since its launch. The low end Android handset which has gone on sale in Europe a little over a month ago is selling like hot cakes as of now. While most of the geek crowd are only bothered about top of the line, expensive and flagship devices, these sales figures for the Optimus One is a reminder that the numbers game is still dominated by sales of mid and low end devices.
The Good thing about the Optimus One is that fact that unlike many other better spec’d devices which are yet to see a update to Froyo, the Optimus One already runs the latest stable version if Android non chalantly.
Other features of the phone include a 3 megapixel camera that features face tracking and smile shot. At the front is the 3.2” wide HVGA screen. The phone is powered by a quite adequate sounding 1500 mAh battery. What makes this achievement even greater for LG is the fact that this phone is yet to arrive in other countries and networks. The phone would be soon available in over 120 carriers across the globe.
